While both Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex are great business communication and collaboration platforms with similar capabilities and features, Teams is built on the Microsoft 365 Groups surrounding productivity and collaboration whereas Webex is an online meeting environment that is part of a larger Cisco suite of online collaboration tools. Over the last year 2020, we’ve taken a close look at two of the most popular emerging Enterprise unified communication solutions — Microsoft Teams and Webex Teams. I noted that Microsoft Teams in particular is quickly taking the world by storm, and has even started to gain ground on Slack. On the other side, the Cisco Webex Teams rebranding from Cisco Spark has brought with it both a new.

- Cisco’s WebEx Teams is really designed as the next generation collaboration solution for those with an existing investment in Cisco voice and video endpoints. WebEx Teams is part of the Cisco portfolio. It’s a well-integrated solution with their existing WebEx Meetings offering and their on-premises voice technologies.
- The companies planned to release a Microsoft Cloud Video Interop (CVI) certified solution that would allow Cisco Webex Room and SIP video conferencing devices to join Microsoft Teams meetings. Additionally, they also proposed creating a direct guest join pathway connecting their respective video conferencing devices with their meeting web apps.
The Cisco Webex Video Integration for Microsoft Teams requires an explicit set of permissions in your Microsoft tenant. These permissions are not customizable and are based on the requirements for application media bots in Microsoft Teams. Completing the consent flow grants the integration the following required permissions:

Allows the bot to join group calls and scheduled meetings in your organization with the privileges of a directory user. Used for joining participants who are authorized to bypass the Microsoft Teams lobby. |
Joint group calls and meetings as a guest (Calls.JoinGroupCallAsGuest.All) Software for mac download free. | Allows the bot to anonymously join group calls and scheduled meetings in your organization as a guest. Used for joining participants who are not authorized to bypass the Microsoft Teams lobby. |

Read online meeting details (OnlineMeetings.Read.All) | Allows the service to read Online Meeting details in your organization. Used to look up and resolve VTC Conference IDs to Microsoft Teams meetings. |
