• LibreOffice is a free online office suite designed for small and medium-sized businesses. In this review, we highlight LibreOffice's best features and more.
• Opened LibreOffice Writer and created a document, scrolled to and fro a bit and it locked up as before. When I logged in again, I chose a Gnome session instead of Cinnamon, and repeated the document creation with LibreOffice Writer. Try as I might, I couldn't get it to lock up. So Cinnamon is behaving badly with xserver on this particular hardware.
• 7.0.5 This version is slightly older and does not have the latest features, but it has been tested for longer. For business deployments, we strongly recommend support from certified partners which also offer long-term support versions of LibreOffice.
• LibreOffice is a bigger download than OpenOffice; however, unless you are bandwidth restricted, this should not matter much. The macOS download of LibreOffice 6.2 is only more than 250 MB, while the OpenOffice 4.1 installer is approximately 185 MB. The setup size is more significant, as well.

Some reference management software include support for automatic embedding and (re)formatting of references in word processing programs. This table lists this type of support for Microsoft Word, Pages, Apache OpenOffice / LibreOffice Writer, the LaTeX editors Kile and LyX, and Google Docs.

The review for LibreOffice has not been completed yet, but it was tested by an editor here on a PC and a list of features has been compiled; see below.
